Coolpad Headquarters – Shenzhen, China

Building Height: 80m and 200m

Part of Shenzhen City Urban Renewal masterplan in the High-Tech zone of Nanshan, Coolpad Group Ltd. commissioned a feasibility study for a new headquarters complex that will be able to accommodate future emerging needs in terms of R&D spaces, event related facilities, and conference centre. With phase one of its expansion is currently under construction, the new headquarter complex and conference centre with related facilities will merge seamlessly with phase one and integrate a new international headquarter complex into its overall masterplan.
Our feasibility study focused on developing an urban narrative, the relationship between the new headquarters complex with the phase one buildings and finally creating a massing relationship that reflects the creative and innovative spirit of Coolpad Group and its products.

Our concept frames the north-south urban axis with an urban portal created with two leaning built massing. The simplicity of the triangular shaped headquarter tower at 200m belies its iconic nature and the intricate glass unitized façade system reveal the innovative glass technology both sustainable and energy conscience.
The 200m tall headquarter tower is the highest built form in the district. It is the iconic central piece of the masterplan. The slandering triangular form is unique and visually awe inspiring. The Second tower at 80m tall featuring the international conference centre with hotel facilities creates the portal with its inversed triangular form. The exhibition pavilion to the north of the site forms the cultural anchor of the overall masterplan. Unpretentious and iconic, the Coolpad headquarters complex will anchor the north of the high-tech zone and form the new innovative corporate image for its occupant.
