2017 AIA-HK chapter Merit Award for Unbuilt Project

AIA-HK chapter Merit Award for Unbuilt Project 2017

  • Awarding Body: American Institute of Architects
  • Country: Hong Kong SAR

Studio Georges Hung Architects were recently recognised by the Hong Kong chapter of the American Institute of Architects, at their 2017 Honors & Awards Ceremony. The chapter, promoting the importance of architecture in society, honored our SGH architects, and their design, “1+1=1 Tower”, with the ‘Merit Award for Unbuilt Project’.

The winning design, “1+1=1 Tower” was created for the Great Wall Electronics Company headquarters in Shenzhen, China. The design features two high rise towers, delicately interlocked, resulting in both closed, and shared spaces. The concept mirrors the collaborative, and creative nature of the Great Wall Electronics Company, and was designed to functionally foster interaction between departments.

We’re proud of the “1+1=1 Tower” design, and even prouder of our design team who have been officially recognised for it. We’d like to thank the Hong Kong AIA for acknowledging our efforts at their 20th Anniversary Celebration in PMQ, and look forward to attending future ceremonies.
